San Francisco based Diego's Umbrella is truly poineering the sound of Mexicali Gypsy Pirate Polka music. Their blend of flamenco mixed with rock, reggae and Americana added with a hint of hip-hop and pop-based beats, is a recipe that will get you singing along and dancing in no time. The April Fishes are Rupa [songwriter/guitar/vocals], Marcus Cohen [trumpet], Ed Baskerville [cello], Aaron Kierbel [contraptionist], Adrian Jost [accordion] and Eric Perney [upright bass]. They make music that mixes sounds from chansons francais, tango, jazz, American folk with tones from Indian ragas.
