Elefant features the talents of Diego Garcia, who immersed himself in the sounds of Iggy Pop and MC5 at an early age. Garcia was 14 when he got himself an acoustic guitar and started writing songs. While attending Brown University, he decided to pursue a career in music, not in economics. He left for New York City upon his 2000 graduation and gradually began to hook up with some great musicians. With bassist Jeff Berrall, guitarist Mod, and drummer Kevin McAdams, Garcia had the core for the eclectic dream pop group they named Elefant. The 'Gallery Girl' EP appeared in February 2003 and the atmospheric, lush debut full-length 'Sunlight Makes Me Paranoid' was released two months later. Their latest is 'The Black Magic Show.'
