The Chicago Flamenco Festival returns in 2012! The most acclaimed flamenco stars from Spain and North America will once again make the cold Chicago winter sizzle with the passion of flamenco music, dance performances, films and workshops. The festival celebrates the art of flamenco in the intimate auditoriums at the Instituto Cervantes, Flamenco Arts Center and Old Town School of Folk Music. Don't miss this rare opportunity to see Diego Amador, Rebeca Tomás, Canteca de Macao, Caroline Planté and Raimundo Amador perform this time-honored Andalusian art.

The Diego Amador Trio, featuring the renowned flamenco singer and pianist, kicks off the festival on February 9th! Born into a gypsy family in Seville, Spain, Amador was raised steeped in flamenco tradition. By age 11, he had mastered the guitar and several other musical instruments and was already playing drums in the group Pata Negra. Experience this unique multi-talented musician from Spain in a rare Chicago performance. Reception following opening night performance. www.diegoamador.es
