Set in 1967 Hollywood, Die! Mommie Die! is meant to be a satire of both the swinging !60s and the horror/drama movies of the same era, movies such as Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte, and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? In Busch's play, fading chanteuse Angela Arden and her movie-mogul husband, Sol Sussman, have a loveless marriage, and when he's found dead, both in-love-with-Daddy daughter Edith and closeted gay son Lance think it's time for Angela to bite the dust.
