Our speaker in March will be Mike Mages, one of the founders of a startup thats building CoCoDeep, the most advanced interface for 3D virtual collaboration and conversation being developed today. The software will allow schools and other organizations to hold virtual meetings in 3D. You can preview its interface at http://www.cocodeep.com

Mike will be telling us how teachers will be able to share lesson materials with students, companies will be able to hold meetings with far-flung employees, and all participants will be able to share their own and others materials over the Internet in real time, and will be able to save the experience, chat logs, comment threads, and multimedia materials from YouTube, Flickr, Wikipedia and other online resources. Video-game technology will be harnessed to create an online experience that makes users into participants rather than viewers. Before CoCoDeep, Mike was a senior software engineer at Apple, developing Aperture and Final Cut Pro. He says that although CoCoDeep uses avatars (virtual, not flesh-and-blood), he was afraid to mention the word until the success of the recent movie.

So, don't miss this chance to find out about what may turn out to be the future of online communication.
