(Berkeley, CA) November 2, 2008 – Children ages 0-6 join us for a commemoration of life and spirit as we celebrate the traditional Mexican holiday, El Diá De Los Muertos, on Sunday, November 2 from 9:30 – 4:30 pm. This celebration is a time for family and friends to gather and honor their ancestors and loved ones. Children can create paper marigolds, the flower of the holiday, in our Art Studio. From 10:00 – 12:00 pm, Enrique Martinez will teach the art of papel picado, colorful banners cut in intricate patterns. Families can decorate delicious and festive sugar skulls from 10:30 – 11:30 am, and savor Mexican treats and horchata donated by Cancún Taqueria at 3:00 pm. Enjoy learning the history and culture surrounding this holiday with Day of the Dead story-telling from 11:00- 12:00 pm. This FREE admission day is generously sponsored by Mechanics Bank.
