So you want to be a skater, but you're not sure you've got the skills? Come on out. Many of us hadn't skated in years when we joined the league. It takes a large commitment to be a Detroit Derby Girl. We are a "by the skater, for the skater" organization. This means we do everything ourselves - from fundraising and advertising, to the production of events.

The average skater probably devotes a minimum of 12-15 hours a week to the league, including practices (currently Monday and Wednesday nights in Livonia), meetings, and events.

You will be responsible for buying your own equipment, purchasing a $35 yearly membership from USA Rollersports (our insurance provider), and paying monthly dues (currently $30).
