Course Description:

Organizations of all kinds and sizes are increasingly threatened by fraud. Embezzlement, kickbacks, check fraud, financial statement fraud and vendor billing schemes are just few of the countless economic crimes committed by employees and outsiders.

The first day of the seminar will provide auditors and other financial professionals with practical knowledge on how common frauds are committed using a combination of lecture, exercises and group breakout sessions. The instructor will explain how to conduct a fraud risk assessment and recognize the Red Flags of various types of internal fraudsuch as embezzlement, cash theft, T&E fraud collusion/kickback/bribery, identity fraud, theft of confidential information, theft of assets/industrial equipment, Payroll fraud, P2P fraud, financial reporting fraud, counterfeiting and piracy, Internet/cyber-fraud.

The second day of the seminar will teach effective detection, investigative and forensic accounting techniques and how to set up a whistleblower hotline. At the end of the day, the instructor will provide a summary of all that has been taught during the seminar, including fraud prevention measures and best practices in anti-fraud controls.
