The 9th biannual symposium, "An Architecture of Necessity," discusses the social agency of design.

March 19, keynote address from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a reception from 7 to 8 p.m.; March 20, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All events at the Byrd Theatre, except the reception on March 19, which will be held at the Virginia Center for Architecture.
