Keynote speaker: Steven Overman, Director of integration, IPG Nokia

The Amazing Application of Design Thinking

Steven Overman is the strategist Nokia entrusts with communication about its most advanced mobile devices. He’s also a design school graduate, a former Hollywood director’s assistant and one of the founders of San Francisco-based Wired magazine – a bible of new technology and business.

According to him ‘every challenge is a design challenge’ and ‘the act of creating a business is an act of design’. It’s an influential approach as Design Week recently described Nokia as having ‘design stitched into the fabric of the business’ and included the company in its Hot Fifty.

Now Steven wants to share his secrets with small design companies and their SME clients.
He’s collated a series of ‘before and after’ examples that show just what ‘design thinking’ makes possible.

Guaranteed to be a thought provoking session on the role of designers in business, Steven promises insights that will translate into any client organisation, large or small.
