You are invited to the first of our fall and winter series of Design Talks: Planning For Your Home. Our topic for September will be: Creating Zoning and Flow in Your Space for Living, Relaxing, and Entertaining.

Ever feel like you have so much furniture that you have nowhere to actually live in your home? Do you feel relaxed when you come home from work, or does the disarray in your living space put you even more “on edge” after a stressful day? Do you wish you could entertain, but feel that your home is just too cramped to accommodate visitors?

As the busy back-to-school and back-to-work fall season descends, and as events such as Thanksgiving, Halloween, and festive holiday parties approach, our design experts will help you tackle the issue of how you can make your home and your pieces of furniture “flow.” Maximize your functional space, minimize your stress, and entertain with ease!

Whether you want to set up your place for entertaining, need to incorporate a home office/work area into your space, or simply want to be able to live in a space that allows you to unwind after a hard day, our September Design Talk will inspire you with ideas and help you plan zoning and flow in your home. Myrlene Sundberg, interior designer and co-owner of Urban Mode, will show how you can create a multi-functional space that works for everyday life, relaxation, and entertaining.

Bring your floor plans, photos, and ideas, and Myrlene and her team will equip you with the knowledge to create zoning for a variety of functions and enable a flow through your space.

Spaces are limited. Register for your free ticket at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/819538261

The Design Talks Philosophy: Design Talks is a series of events to bring you face-to-face with knowledgeable experts in design to help you make good choices for urban living. The aim of Design Talks is to combine several elements into each evening. First of all, we want to offer participants a mix-and-mingle opportunity before each event so you can meet like-minded people in the city. Second, we believe that local food is better-tasting food: we will give you an opportunity to sample pairings of fine Ontario-region wines and artisinal cheeses expertly chosen by Toronto-based food and wine experts at each of our events. All of our Design Talks: Planning For Your Home events will also feature a take-away homework assignment related to the topic of the day, so you will have some practical tasks to try out in your own home. As always, discussion and questions are encouraged throughout the entire presentation, and time will be set aside after the presentation to address the questions of anyone who wants further help with their own interior design questions. In addition, Urban Mode will also be making a time-limited special offer on items for sale throughout the store.
