Derrek Phillips is internationally acknowledged as a master drummer and musician. His melodic and signature rhythms can be heard on the Charlie Hunter Rope-a-dope Records releases, “Right Now Move”, “Right Now Live” (DVD), “Friends Seen and Unseen” and "Copperopolis".

The Manufactory is a musical group that believes in stretching the well known into the unknown. While finding highly innovative ways of creating sound, they give incessant nods to their predecessors. Their music is truly a reflection of their composite musical backgrounds. They leave no rock unturned, bringing their audiences on a journey that spans decades, genres, cultures, and disciplines. Their unique way of blending hip-hop, rock, improv, electronica, drum-n-bass, jazz, and spoken word is infectious and pleases every crowd they are in front of. Their first outing, “Offering” is slated to come out on Rope-a-dope Records by fall of 2009.

After only a brief time together, they have left crowds mesmerized by their inventive approach, high tuned skills, and large appeal. On any given night, you will hear nods to DJ Shadow, Sigur Ros, Stevie Wonder, Soundgarden, De La Soul and more.

ROSS WHITAKER TRIO (Lexington)

The Ross Whitaker Trio is a group of local musicians featuring Ross Whitaker on guitar, Kevin Kehrberg on bass, and John Willmarth on drums. Come out and hear an exciting evening of jazz inspired by artists such as Pat Metheny, Joe Henderson, Chick Corea, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Bill Frisell, and Miles Davis.
