David McVicar’s celebrated production of Der Rosenkavalier, which is ‘ranked as one of his supreme achievements’ (The Financial Times), makes its long-awaited London premiere.

Conducting Richard Strauss for the first time as the Company’s Music Director, Edward Gardner collaborates with an impressive ENO cast, including Janice Watson, the UK’s leading Strauss soprano, and Sarah Connolly, who sang Octavian with Scottish Opera last year. Reprising one of his signature roles, John Tomlinson, recipient of the 2006 Olivier Award for Lifetime Achievement, appears as Baron Ochs alongside Andrew Shore in this beautifully observed reading of Strauss’s Viennese fantasy.
