What is Departure Lounge?

"a gathering place conducive to reflecting on where we are all about to go together."

We often enjoy lectures about engaging architectural ideas and rigorous architectural designs. This conference comes at a pressured moment and so we will shift from marvelling at…to wondering about the achievements of our colleagues. What were the conditions of practice that enabled them to do their best and advance our discipline? Do these conditions vary between cultures, producing professionals, technicians, service providers, persuaders, specialists, knowledge brokers or custodians?

Timothy Hill has revolutionised the conference program with Departure Lounge. He is asking hard hitting questions and involving speakers that have strong views about a range of topics.

Departure Lounge will question how we practice, who supports practice, a place to practice, products of practice and how much do we need to change. He will engage with key International and Australian based speakers to provide opinions and options. He will also be engaging heavily with you! Expect to be questioned!
