Sergio Garza of the Mexican Consulate has labored to birth a new Spanish-speaking theatre company. Producing Spanish theatrical works, with subtitles in English, the Teatro Hispano-Americano Company (or "THACo") will help to unite the Spanish-speaking and English-speaking communities of Austin.

THACo's first work, "Departamento de Solteras," will debut on September 13 at the Boyd Vance Theater of the George Washington Carver Museum. "Departamento de Solteras" is directed by the very talented Alejandra Mendiola, and features an international cast. It will be performed eight times during two weekends. You may well know Sergio's artistic talent from such local productions as "Un Mal Día" and "Lotería."
