DENVER IMPROV FESTIVAL TO SHOWCASE LOCAL & NATIONAL TALENT WHILE EDUCATING ON ART OF IMPROV
Group Mind Foundation to enrich and entertain local community

DENVER (October, 2008) – The Group Mind Foundation will host the fourth annual Denver Improv Festival from November 6-8. Two timeless venues, 17 improv groups and a half dozen workshops comprise this year’s festival.

"The goal of the Denver Improv Festival is to broaden and grow the improv community as whole,” says Festival Executive Director and Producer, Jon Lannen. “Improv is for everyone. We use it daily -- in conversations and in everyday interaction. It’s a true art form that speaks from the heart."

This year’s festival includes showcases from big-city hot spots such as Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Chicago as well as some of the best Denver-based performers. Show prices range from $10 to $20. Shows kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 6 and run through midnight on Saturday, November 8. Featured venues include The Bovine Metropolis Theater and The Impulse Theater.

Workshops are also featured to expose everyday people to the art of improv via a free “Improv 101” workshop. Seasoned improvisers can participate in multiple workshops led by national improvisers including MTV Made’s Jill Bernard (Minneapolis, MN) and Annoyance Theater’s Joe Bill (Chicago, IL).
