The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Martin Hall, will welcome Australian planning law expert Dr Andrew Kelly to the University on 25 January 2010.

Dr Kelly, from the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, will be guest lecturer at an event, titled Democracy and Planning Law: International Perspectives, hosted by the School of the Built Environment and Salford Law School.

His topic will be Recent Changes to New South Wales Planning Legislation and the Threat to Local Democracy.

Francis Moor, from the School of the Built Environment, will also speak on the new UK Planning Act and its impact upon private law rights.
