Brian Knaus will present "Introduction to The R Programming Language".

R is an Open Source implementation of the S statistical programming language. In fact, R is the most widely used open source software package for statistical software development and data analysis, and has become a de-facto standard among statisticians for the development of statistical software.

R supports a wide variety of statistical and numerical techniques and has excellent graphical facilities, which can produce publication-quality graphs which can include such things as mathematical symbols and maps and other complex features. R is also highly extensible through the use of packages, which are user-submitted libraries for specific functions or specific areas of study. As a result, R has been extended to work well with postgres, GRASS, and many other software products.
