In the Kentucky backwoods Bible belt, the Turpin Family’s patriarch dies, and his eccentric folks try to pull themselves together for his funeral. But family feuds, funeral-bill fights, and a pack of no-neck monster kids seems to overshadow the occasion. The Turpins get comfort from down-home friends and neighbors--good people who “jist want to he’p”, but, prove livin’ and dyin’ in the South is seldom tidy, and often hilarious.
