This art show, co-sponsored by the Irish American Heritage Center and Windy City Arts and in conjunction with The Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, features paintings and sculpture that examine the similarity and differences between the Mexican celebration, Day of the Dead and the Celtic Samhain (Sow-en). Both festivals celebrate the themes of birth, death and resurrection, the cycle of life and how it is recognized in Celtic and Mexican cultures. The ancient festival of Samhain is the beginning of winter and the yearly opening of the Celtic underworld.
