Montreal`s David Alvarez, described by the New York Times as a `cherub-faced charmer,` is one of three actors chosen to play the title role in the Broadway production of Billy Elliot. Based on the charming 2000 movie, a Cinderella story about an 11-year-old boy from Northern England who`s gotta` dance, the Elton John/Lee Hall musical rolls out its open-ended Broadway run beginning October 1st. Since the demanding title role requires a young actor who is a triple threat (dancer, singer, actor) who will be on stage for nearly three hours, it was decided by the producers that Billy would be played by three actors in rotation. Sharing the role with Alvarez are Kiril Kulish (California) and Trent Kowalik (Long Island, NY).
