Join Dave Le Febvre and his quintet for an afternoon of contemporary jazz at the Jazzschool in Berkeley. The group will be playing several original compositions from their upcoming CD due out early next year.
The quintet also feature special guest guitarist Jean Michel Hure from France. Also in the band are Murray Low (piano), Dan Feizli (bass) and Curt Moore (drums).
Dave has composed and arranged over 50 original compositions for big band and more than 200 compositions and arrangements for small ensembles. His works have been performed by Freddie Hubbard, Richie Cole and many others in jazz festivals throughout the world. His experience with groups like The Don Piestrup Big Band and The Don Ellis Orchestra early in his career helped to inspire a creative and ever-evolving approach toward jazz exploration. Whether his music is labeled "fusion" or "straight-ahead," it is always based on a melodic and intensely rich harmonic concept. He has performed for over 25 years, including appearances at several major jazz festivals around the world.
