Danspace Project: Yvonne Meier - Stolen February 7, 2009

Audiences have come to expect the unexpected and revel in the surprise of Yvonne Meier's mischievous dance works. Called, "smart, witty, and more than a little nutty" by Deborah Jowitt of 'The Village Voice,' Ms. Meier returns to Danspace Project with 'Stolen.' In her new evening-length work, Meier creates a world fully outfitted with furniture ropes and aluminum, where a strange balance exists between tenderness and destruction. The constant manipulation and transformation of props and dancers becomes a wild game as the performers attempt to create something unbelievable.
