Danielle Eubank: Artist Lecture February 3, 2009

Painter Danielle Eubank will speak on her role as an expedition artist for The Borobudur Ship Expedition as part of her 'Oil on Water' exhibition at Found Gallery (ongoing Jan. 17 - Feb 22) on Tuesday, February 3, 2009:

In 2004 Danielle was invited to participate in the international Borobudur Ship Expedition. As Expedition Artist, she traveled 10,000 miles with the replica 8th century Indonesian wooden boat from Indonesia to Seychelles, Madagascar, South Africa, and Ghana, painting and drawing. The boat was of a design based on stone relief carvings found on the ancient Buddhist temple at Borobudur on the island of Java. The unique body of work she produced during this epic voyage (over 100 paintings and photographs) was subsequently presented at a solo exhibition held at Thompson's Gallery in central London.
