DANCE REPERTORY EXTRAVAGANZA: Dance Repertory celebrates its 10th Anniversary March 7, 2009

The renowned VISION SERIES DANCE FESTIVAL will commemorate ten outstanding years of service to young Bay Area artists with a stellar program that brings pioneering veterans and emerging artists together.

Anna Halprin Dancers; AXIS Dance Company; Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet Training Program; and Off-Balance Dance Company (from Modesto Junior College) will take the stage alongside some of the most talented and diverse new artists from Bay Area high schools and colleges.

Dance Repertory is thrilled to welcome Anna Halprin Dancers and AXIS Dance Company as the Special Guest Artists on all of the programs (March 7-8 at 4pm and March 7 at 8pm).

Anna Halprin Dancers will premiere STOMP DANCE: A Rhythmic Dance Adventure, created especially for this event. STOMP DANCE: A Rhythmic Dance Adventure is a trio that includes audience participation led by musician Billy Cauley.

AXIS Dance Company will present a work that exemplifies their mission to present dancers with and without disabilities.The DANCE REPERTORY EXTRAVAGANZA also features special guest artists Anna Halprin Dancers and Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet Training Program.

In addition, there are several talented emerging artist companies who were selected to perform in the 10th Anniversary Celebration DANCE REPERTORY EXTRAVAGANZA. On Saturday, March 7 at 8pm, the featured guest artists on this program are: Crystal Springs Dancers, Moreau Catholic High School Dance Company, The Branson Dance Performance Ensemble, Lowell Dance Company, Mercy High School San Francisco Dance Ensemble, DONNA CERIO’s Broadway Dance Company, indepenDance, Nor Cal Dance Arts PACK Dance Company
