With its signature blend of exuberance and eloquence, Janice Garrett & Dancers storms the stage at San Francisco’s Cowell Theater with a Home Season that illustrates why this exciting Bay Area ensemble was honored by Dance Magazine as one of its top "25 to Watch."

Celebrating its 5th Anniversary, the company will present the world premieres of two stunning new works by artistic director Janice Garrett- Archimedes' Revenge and 10 Studies on the Vicissitudes of Grief (working titles)- and the San Francisco premiere of guest choreographer Charles Moulton's Chickens, a hilarious commentary on being different. Two popular works from the repertoire will also be performed - Fast Brass (2005) and Brink (2005). Garrett's rigorously crafted choreography bursts with energy and personality. Her work sweeps through a broad spectrum of emotions from grief to giddiness with breathtaking force and articulation. This is high velocity dance with a very human face. "People are people in these dances," says Garrett. "And they are simply using a kinetic vocabulary to connect to each other, to cooperate and to share the delights and distresses of life. Through the dynamism of dance I want to engage both the dancers and the audience in the awareness of our shared humanity."
