Damo Suzuki, previous lead singer for “Kraut rock” powerhouse CAN, will be leading a series of three concerts at Kilburn’s Luminaire on 2, 3, and 4 May 2010, featuring six unique, experimental groups as his backing bands. Suzuki is known for his rock vocals, spoken word, and instantly composed melodic and harmonic material. He is currently undertaking a collaboration project with numerous music projects from around the world, presenting live concerts and producing recordings. The first night of three opens with REnDer PLaNt backing Suzuki. The duet features Wayne Owens and Matt Chilton, computer artists who approach electronic music generation using video camera and sampling objects through contact pick-ups. Following them Suzuki is supported by The Atomic Crashdown, Richie Green’s improv rock trio featuring Gordon Ashdown (bass) and Will Connor (drums). The group comes from a prog rock background and mixes elements of funk, blues, jazz, and improv into their music. http://www.myspace.com/refzillamusic.
