Patricia and John Patkau refuse singular definitions of architectureas art, as 'green', as political position, as social construct; instead they gather all these into a rich, dynamic, and interwoven whole. This approach is seen in current work such as an 'ecological' hotel for Beacon, New York; an ecosystems research lab for the University of British Columbia, and the Montreal central library. Numerous publications include the monograph Patkau Architects from Monacelli Press.
