8th & Red River
Austin, Texas

Next week marks the 20th anniversary of the death of D. Boon and the dissolution of the Minutemen, one of the most influential and easily one of the most fun punk bands of the early '80s. On Tuesday, December 20th, the Karaoke Underground is honoring D., Mike Watt and George Hurley by adding 20 new Minutemen songs to our list, most from their classic 1984 album, Double Nickels On The Dime. There's no cover, and we're giving one FREE DRINK to anybody who sings a Minutemen song! Come on out and sing it loud at Headhunters, 8th & Red River, Austin, Texas.

The Karaoke Underground was formed in 2003 to give fans the chance to sing their favorites from artist like Black Flag, Modest Mouse, the Misfits, Cat Power, Fugazi and many other punk and indie bands that aren't included on commercial karaoke lists. It's video karaoke with onscreen lyrics, a stage, and you -- with the chance to sing great songs you just can't find anywhere else. From Wilco to Wire, from Belle & Sebastian to Big Black, you're sure to find something to put a microphone in your hand. For upcoming show dates, a complete songlist and booking information, see www.karaokeunderground.com or call Kaleb at 512.694.8015.
