Cypress Quartet presents 12th Annual Call & Response Concert May 5, 2011

The Cypress Quartet explores "Exoticism in Music" in its 12th Annual Call & Response Concert. Praised by Gramophone for its “artistry of uncommon insight & cohesion" the Cypress is well-known for its elegant performances in the Bay Area & across the country. The Call & Response program was born out of the Cypress’s commitment to present music as a dynamic & ongoing process of inspiration. This year Jeffery Cotton writes a new piece in response to music by Debussy, Glazunov, Bloch, & Schulhoff.
