This is a boisterous double-bill of mistaken identities and marriages turned upside-down. In Rossini's farce, true love challenges an arranged match with schemes, disguises, and comic confusion. In Poulenc's topsy-turvy fantasy, a bored housewife and her husband reverse roles to absurd effect. Fully staged production with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, sung in Italian and French with English supertitles.
