On the evening of Friday 8th April 2011, from 6 -8pm Minsky & Titley return to CUBE after their epic Lake District 3 Day Journey, via Bike, Kayak & Foot (fell running). To flood a representation of Mardle Green village, made of Kendal Mint Cake.

Their heroic journey is the culmination of a complex multi-faceted active research programme that has challenged them: mentally, physically, emotionally and perhaps spiritually and forms part of their project ‘something in the pipeline’.

Since the 17th February Minsky & Titley’s base camp has been CUBE (Centre for the Urban Built Environment) in Manchester and forms part of the gallery’s CUBELab Residency Programme.

Their field trips have slowly pieced together information regarding the story of the pipeline: including maps, drawings, notes, plans and other historical documentation which will be presented in the gallery as and when it is uncovered.

The residency is culminating in a grand finale, where a representation of the village made from Kendal Mint Cake will be flooded in the gallery space on the Friday the 8th April. During the flooding event the audience will be privy to the birth of a new product born out of the fantastic journey.
