Crystal Palace Children’s Book Festival April 23, 2009

A FREE book festival for children of all ages bought to you by children's authors and illustrators.

Writing and Drawing Workshops, including:

ZOMBIE & MONSTER ART WORKSHOP
Hosted by Tom Percival, illustrator of the Skulduggery Pleasant books, this fabulous workshop will have you creating monsters in the blink of an eye!

COSTUMES FOR CATS ART WORKSHOP
Hosted by Sarah Horne, author and illustrator of the fabulous Molly and Mimi books, this workshop is perfect for children who like to draw cats, particularly special cats who wear tiaras.

CHILDREN'S ART EXHIBITION

A free illustration exhibition will take place in Smash Bang Wallop, and run from Friday 24th April through to Sunday 26th April.

You’ll see original art by the best new children’s illustrators working in books and comics, including Alex Milway, the creators of the DFC comic, Tom Percival, Viviane Schwarz and many more!

Author of the delightful The Quiet Woman and the Noisy Dog. We’re all hoping that her marvellous dog puppet will make an appearance…

11.30-11.50pm VIVIANE SCHWARZ.
Author and illustrator of There are Cats in this Book, and other superb children’s picture books.

Author of Dinkin Dings and the Frightening Things and other super spooky books for children!

12.30-12.50pm SARAH HORNE.

Author of the exciting Mousehunter books.

2.40-3pm ALEXANDER GORDON SMITH.
Author of The Inventors, and the terrifying Furnace books.

3.20-3.40pm SARWAT CHADDA.
Author of The Devil’s Kiss will be here for an exclusive reading, with the rare chance to buy copies of his new book before anyone else. This is not one to miss!

4.30-5pm THE DFC and Comics signing session.
This is an amazing chance to meet comics artists and writers, and buy signed copies of their work.
