Crust April 2, 2009

Working together on CRUST, Hysterica's co-artistic directors Kitty McNamee and Ryan Heffington will create a world of excess, illusion and heightened glamour. Visually: layer upon layer of materials will inform and infringe upon the dancers' movement until they are peeled away revealing their authentic, basic forms in motion. We are challenging ourselves, the dancers and the audience to interact in the revelation of this exposed, raw and real exchange. Deconstructing the glamour/chaos that surrounds us, we hope to ground ourselves in meaning, purpose and deepening emotional involvement. As the dancers remove their individual crusts, the material will transform into shelter for all.
