Crowden Music Center's annual Community Music Day is a FREE musical celebration for the entire family! Please join us for a whole day of fun and exploration.

Featuring:

* Very First Concerts: "Meet the Orchestra"
The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra performs short and engaging programs based on the musical theme "Meet the Orchestra." Strings, woodwinds, and brass are the musical ingredients. Do you know the difference between a viola and a trombone? Come and find out! Tumbling mats for wriggling toddlers, short selections, and hands-on musical activities make this the perfect way to introduce the youngest children to the joys of live classical music. Repeat performances at 11:00 am, 11:40 am, 12:20 pm.

* Instrument Petting Zoo
Kids and adults alike explore, touch, and learn to make sounds on all the different instruments in a symphony orchestra! We even have special miniature string instruments for tiny hands and fingers.

* Class demonstrations
Family members of all ages can sing, dance, move, and drum together in our short class demonstrations.

* Instrument making
Construct your own instruments to make music at home with!

* "Chill" room
Relax from the crowds in the "chill" room, where we'll show music-related movies.

* Musical performances by kids, for kids
Student performers include Crowden School and Suzuki program students, San Francisco Girls Chorus, and more.

* Face painting

* Music sale

* BBQ & baked good sales
