McVey made his “Les Miserables” Broadway debut after winning the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Actor while on tour with the show. He made his Carnegie Hall Debut in April 1997. In 2003, he made his PBS debut with the Boston Pops. This was followed by a PBS Christmas Special for the U.S. military troops where he was featured with Hamlisch and the National Symphony Orchestra.

McVey has dazzled fellow performers and critics as well as audiences. With a Pulitizer Prize, three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony and three Golden Globe awards to his credit, Hamlisch is obviously an expert on all things musical. “Mark McVey is simply the best!!” he explained. “His vocal sound is superb, and his range is awesome... Audiences adore him." Hamlisch has even dubbed McVey his “favorite tenor.”

"I'm not sure anymore that the world's most romantic three little words are 'I love you.' - I think they might be 'J. Mark McVey'" added Mary Kunz Goldman of the Buffalo News.
McVey will perform “Broadway and Beyond,” featuring stories and anecdotes of the artist's life woven through a thrilling collection of time honored favorites featuring Sondheim, Bernstein, Rodgers, Styne, Gershwin, and more.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by dinner in the Grand Ballroom. The concert will feature intimate staging with McVey with piano accompaniment. McVey will also be available at a post-event VIP reception to autograph his latest CDs.
