Crisis Intervention
3 hours of Continuing Education Credit offered for; LCSW, LMFT, LMHC
Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling - CE Provider # 50-462 expires 3/31/2009

Description
Individuals experiencing crisis present unique challenges to those attempting to intervene in their situation. Whether responding to situational stressors or to an underlying psychiatric disturbance, people in crisis states may experience transient episodes of judgment impairment, impulsivity and difficulty utilizing executive functions. The ability to intervene effectively in a crisis requires an understanding of traumatic response and the willingness to assist in a manner which provides structure, support and advocacy while promoting personal dignity and self respect. These approaches will be experienced by participants through group exercises and role play activities.

This workshop is presented by Antoinette G. Cillo, Training Coordinator/Shift Supervisor, 2-1-1 Tampa Bay, Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.
