Creative Sparks - igniting the desire to read and write February 26, 2009

A conference run by Scottish Book Trust for learning professionals interested in creative approaches to literature in education.

Please note, the conference provides 8 hours of CPD relevant to Curriculum for Excellence!

• Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen will be sharing his ideas about transformational approaches to reading for pleasure in schools.
• Nínive Calegari, co-founder of America’s innovative 826 National – a network of drop-in centres providing free tutoring and writing support to disadvantaged children – will discuss her experience of igniting the desire to write.
• Choose 2 from a range of 10 different seminars, targeted to primary and secondary teachers and librarians – a great way to explore the link between creative practices and literacy across the whole curriculum.
