Creative Minds: Puppetry in Central Florida March 14, 2009

The Puppetry in Central Florida exhibit, created by the History Center, celebrates the large community of puppeteers right here in Central Florida! Trace the history of American puppetry and find out how Central Florida became one of the nation’s leading centers for talented puppeteers, some who came as a result of Jim Henson’s involvement with Walt Disney World and others who came because of Disney and Universal Studios. The exhibit highlights the multi-talented people from the Orlando Puppet Festival, Michelee Puppets, and Heather Henson’s IBEX Puppetry who create and perform everything from sock puppets to full-bodied puppets, represented by Nigel the Reluctant Dragon from the City of Orlando Puppetroupe.
