How can the arts play a role in the future of Prince George’s County, now and into the 21st Century? America Speaks, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to reinvigorating American democracy by engaging citizens in the public decision-making that most impacts their lives, leads this community workshop at the Clarice Smith Center, sponsored by The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC).

The goal of the Envision Prince George’s initiative is to develop strategies and solutions aimed at solidifying the county’s position as a creative world-class community now and into the future. Join community leaders as we ask ourselves: What is the culture of Prince George’s County? What image and niche do we want to build for our county? What are the gaps and opportunities in developing that image? What is necessary to transform into a creative economy?

Samuel J. Parker, Jr., Chairman of the Prince George’s County Planning Board, joins representatives from M-NCPPC, the Prince George’s County Arts Council, the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center and many others from the county’s arts community for this participatory workshop.
