Designers make a difference by inspiring people to act. When socially responsible organizations create media--whether print, Web, or video--they may trade modest budgets for greater creative freedom. In this seminar, featuring Michael Bierut, partner at Pentagram, we discuss how designers consider the unique objectives of the nonprofit sector such as fundraising, advocacy, and soliciting volunteers. While building relationships with clients, designers can have an impact on policy, culture, and people's lives--and enhance their portfolios at the same time. Working together, designers and socially responsible organizations can help raise money and awareness.

Moderated by Sarah Durham, principal of Big Duck, developer of communications for nonprofits.
