Covers III: A Pop Concert June 13, 2010

Cantus, one of the nation's premier vocal ensembles, takes its stylistic versatility and eclectic programming seriously...as in serious fun! Critics and audiences loved Covers I and II, so Cantus brings back the band to join them in covering more favorite pop songs. Quickly becoming a Twin Cities tradition, Cantus will perform the Covers III concert on two June weekends (June 4-5 & June 11-13) at the Ritz Theater, 345 13th Ave. NE, Minneapolis.

The nine-member ensemble will sing classic pop hits from the past and present, ranging from Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” to Abba’s “Take a Chance on Me,” from Fleet Foxes’ “White Winter Hymnal” to Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” They’re backed by Lee Blaske (keyboards), Rikki Davenport (tabla), Dave Hagedorn (percussion) and Mark Ilaug (sitar).
