'Course of Empire' presented by Breakbone DanceCo. November 11, 2010

Breakbone DanceCo premieres "Course of Empire", an evening length dance excavation which explores the effects of architecture on human physicality and psyche. This new work culminated from a year long process of exploring architecture and how it can inspire, intimidate, immortalize and divide.

A multimedia integrated dance work, performed by four dance excavateurs, uses an open warehouse-like space to explore the life span of an imaginary city from the initial stages, to the rise, and eventual fall. Course of Empire will run for two weekends at the Viaduct Theater on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, November 11-20 at 8:00pm. The Viaduct Theatre is located at 3111 N. Western Avenue in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. Most ticket prices are $16 for general admission and $12 for student or senior rates, Special prices for 13th anniversary performance and after party on Saturday, November 13: $22 general/$20student/senior.
