966 Old Church Road
Corrales, New Mexico 87048

Hispanic artists, intent on passing down 400 year old artistic traditions to a new generation, will be at the Old San Ysidro Church during the Corrales Harvest Festival. Visitors will be able to watch them at work, and, of course, items will be offered for sale. Most of the artists participate in the well-known Spanish Market in Santa Fe each July.

The art forms that will be represented are retablos and bultos (arts of the santeros or saint - makers, which are carved wooden statues of the saints and pictures of saints on wooden boards), weaving, straw applique, colcha embroidery, tinwork, furniture, and carved wooden crosses.

Other exciting attractions will be
* Crafts for children - tinwork & retablos
* Demonstrations of wool spinning & chili stringing
* Tours of the Cemetery
* "Shop in A Basket" offered by the Corrales Historical Society docents.
* Heirloom apple tasting
* Corn shelling
* Hay wagon rides to & from the Old Church
