Coronado Island Luncheon Tour July 25, 2009

Here is an opportunity to view beautiful Coronado Island on San Diego Bay by
kayak.
We will launch at Glorietta Bay and paddle under the Coronado Bay Bridge to
view the beautiful downtown skyline.
We will paddle past the Ferry Landing
toward the Midway docked in downtown San Diego.

After viewing the Midway from the water, we will paddle back to the Ferry
Landing for no-host lunch at Peohe's on the water. After a scrumptious lunch we
will paddle back to the launch ramp.
Then we'll catch the ferry for a trip across the bay to the downtown
Embarcadero
Once we reach downtown you have the choice of two museums:USS
Midway - Live the adventure, honor the legend aboard the
longest-serving U.S. Navy aircraft carrier of the 20th century--a 47 year
odyssey that spanned the end of WWII and the liberation of Kuwait in 1991. The
self-guided audio tour features Midway veterans who lived or worked in the
spaces you'll visit "from boiler to bridge. (Adults $17, Seniors 62+ $13,

$9)San Diego Maritime Museum - The Maritime Museum of
San Diego features one of the finest collections of historic ships in the world,
including: the world's oldest active ship Star of India; the 1898 steam ferry
Berkeley; the 1904 steam yacht Medea; the 1914 harbor Pilot boat; the HMS
Surprise a magnificent replica of an 18th century Royal Navy frigate and the
Californian, a replica of a mid-19th century revenue cutter. (Adults $14,
Seniors 62+ $11, Children 6-17 $8)
When we finish our tours we will take the ferry back to Coronado Island
Cost is $49 per adult, $24 per child, plus admission to museum of choice.
Includes kayak, life vest, paddle, introductory lesson, instructor/guide and
round trip ferry transportation. We use stable, comfortable recreational kayaks
that are easy to paddle either tandem or solo. $20 discount with your own
kayak.
