Conservative journalist Jonah Goldberg will speak on ?The Goldberg Files: Current, National and Political Affairs? at 10:50 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6 at the Carleton College Skinner Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

Goldberg, one of the nation?s most controversial conservative journalists, has been called ?Generation X?s answer to P.J. O?Rourke.? As a writer of witty columns and articles, Goldberg has obtained a loyal following. Although not all readers agree with his particular point of view, his work has generated new ways of thinking about political, media and cultural issues.

Goldberg is best known for his work as a nationally syndicated columnist and editor for National Review Online, for which he writes the popular column ?Goldberg File.? National Review Online is well known in web journalism, earning praise from The Columbia Journalism Review, Vanity Fair, The New York Times and others. The New York Press has called it ?by far the best political online operation going today.? He also serves as a contributing editor to the print version of National Review and as media columnist for The American Enterprise magazine.

Previously Goldberg produced ?Think Tank with Ben Wattenberg,? an award-winning PBS public policy show, and was media critic for the now-defunct Brill?s Content. Goldberg also has written on politics and culture for The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Commentary, Slate and many other publications. He frequently appears on television and radio programs, including Larry King Live, Crossfire, Today, Nightline and Politically Incorrect.
