Atlanta based artist, Jason Francisco, will discuss the influence of famed photographer, Cartier-Bresson, on his work. Francisco is an acclaimed and widely exhibited photographer, books artist, writer on visual culture, and theorist of the photographic image. In his engagement with photographs as documents, and in particular the challenges of historical remembrance through pictures, his work extends one of photography's most accessible and also most difficult traditions.
