Across the South East Contra Dances are drawing folks by the hundreds each night.

Tonight’s UNCC Contra Dance Club event will feature the fine calling of Adina Gordon and the founding members of the internationally renowned contra dance band FootLoose.

Contra Dance is a welcoming, playful high-energy, social, non-competitive dance form. Prepare to sweat. Each dance is taught briefly. No experience or partner is needed. Patterns resemble a flirty, madcap Ceilidh or square dance requiring thinking and fast reflexes so all venues are substance free. Ability to laugh at oneself helpful as even the best dancers goof up now and then.

Crash course @ 7pm has most newcomers ready to go when the dance starts around 7:30.
Please wear clean soft shoes. Bring drinking water.
$7 - $5 with student ID free parking. Signs from main entrance make hall easy to find.
