Dances held at Elizabeth neighborhood’s elegant stone walled and wooden floored Palmer Building. Monday night contra dances have provided a lovely night of contra dancing as well as opportunity to learn how to write call and play music for contra dance. A brief lesson given at 7:30 will have new dancers ready to go when the DANCE STARTS at 8:00pm

Contra Dance is a welcoming non-competitive social dance resembles madcap square-dance done to Live music. Prepare to sweat, as dances can be very vigorous, also prepare for dances to pause as even long-term dancers goof up now and then and the dance needs to be sorted out.

Ability to laugh at oneself, useful. Not wearing heavy scents so folks with allergies/asthma can dance to their hearts delight, polite. Soft-soled non-marking shoes, required. No experience or partner needed. Substance free.

Note: you cannot get to venue off 7th!!! Turning off 7th onto Firefighter Place (5th st. other direction) then onto first access road on right. The hall is at the end of road.
