San Francisco, CA – Tuber Creations, an independent Bay Area artist collective, is pleased to announce Connecting Worlds, a special event benefitting Afghans4Tomorrow and First Exposures, to be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007, from 4-7pm at El Rio in San Francisco's Mission District. All proceeds will go to First Exposures and Afghans4Tomorrow, two Bay Area based non-profit organizations dedicated to creating positive change in our own backyard and on the other side of the globe.

Connecting Worlds is a special benefit with music by Chemystry Set and friends, showcasing the work of these organizations through a photographic presentation and more. Come to El Rio (21 and over) for an afternoon of fun and meaningful exchange. Donations are payable at the door.

Connecting Worlds was conceived by San Francisco writer, musician and producer Sven Eberlein, who envisioned his 40th birthday to be a catalyst for bringing together and supporting meaningful causes. Having integrated a wide range of musical genres with his band Chemystry Set for over ten years, collaborating with diverse organizations came as a natural extension of his creative vision.

Afghans4Tomorrow and First Exposures are connected by a common purpose – to create a safe and fertile environment for those who have been held back by circumstances beyond their control.

First Exposures is a unique Bay Area mentoring/photographic education program for young people, sponsored by SF Camerawork. Students ages 11-18 are recruited from local agencies serving young people with backgrounds of foster care, homelessness or low-income living situations. Mentors are photographers with a commitment to youth empowerment through education. First Exposures' goal is not only to help develop a creative outlet for the students to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment, but also to encourage them to grow and become articulate, confident, and responsible young adults.
